A Vision for the Future

Time to Shine On the Road

On Friday, April 19, the Penn community gathered to celebrate the monumental success of Making History: The Campaign for Penn. We invite you to continue this celebration with Time to Shine On the Road, a dynamic multimedia program in which President Amy Gutmann takes you into the heart and soul of the University and reveals the transformative power of Penn's Making History Campaign. Thank all of you, near and far, who helped strengthen Penn and our future, and we invite you to visit the Final Report website to learn more about the Campaign’s sweeping impact. Thanks to you, it is truly our time to shine.

Thanks to Volunteers, It’s Penn’s Time to Shine

Vounteer Appreciation 2013As we begin to celebrate the successes of Penn’s Making History Campaign, 693 alumni, parents, and friends returned to campus in recognition of the many volunteers who gave so much of their time to the University and to the Campaign. Their dedication elevates our programs and our institution.

The annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, held this year on March 2 in Houston Hall, serves to thank our Penn volunteers for the time, talent, and tireless energy they’ve selflessly given to the University over the preceding year. These volunteers support all areas of Penn, playing a vital role in everything from events to recruitment. The increased engagement of alumni, parents, and friends not only played a role in the success of the Making History Campaign and Penn, it was a goal in itself.

Penn to Announce Campaign Results on February 28, Celebration Planned for April 19

Time to Shine logoSeven years ago, Penn kicked off Making History, one of the largest fundraising campaigns in American higher education. The goal was ambitious: $3.5 billion. Even more ambitious was the vision: to raise Penn from excellence to eminence.

Making History reached its financial target 16 months ago, more than a year before its end date. But the momentum was strong, donors were enthusiastic, and the fundraising continued through December 31, 2012. The final Campaign tally will be announced February 28, and on April 19 the University community will celebrate the success of this remarkable effort at Penn Park.
