We are very excited to announce that Ruth and Raymond Perelman have given $225 million to the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. This is the largest single gift ever made in the University’s history and the largest naming gift for a school of medicine in the U.S.
With this gift, the Raymond and Ruth Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania will be able to offer greater financial aid, support its renowned faculty, and advance ground-breaking new research and education projects—ensuring that the great tradition of a Penn education continues for generations to come.
“Raymond and Ruth Perelman’s historic investment in the University of Pennsylvania’s esteemed School of Medicine is both transformational and inspiring,” said Penn President Dr. Amy Gutmann. “Their gift propels us to make Penn a global model of a comprehensive, collaborative academic medical center.” “Ruth and I believe the future of medicine depends on the ability to produce world-class researchers and clinicians, which are the hallmarks of Penn and a Penn education,” said Raymond Perelman. “We are proud and extremely grateful to have this eminent School of Medicine carry our names.”
